Nee Brahmana na?

Are you a brahmin? this is a very famous dialogue by Sankarabaranam movie somayyaji to bhagyaraj in the movie "Idu Namma Aalu".

Brahmins of today are associated with many hi fi stuff. they include USA, Maniratnam, A R Rahman etc. I had a chance to talk to many of them and many did not like directors Cheran, thangar bachchan or manivannan. They only like Shankar, Maniratnam and some time Balumahendra.

Although Sankar supported economic reservation of brahmins in Gentleman, the movie portrayed the clan in a very bad way. With the games like coupling etc

I dont find the reason as to why they dont like cheran. Many of his movies are good and they have a social message. The suprise package comes here even though Kamal digs are brahmins every time, they like Kamal

The most absurd came from one man who said " ILayaraaja music dappangutu"...i told him to wake up

God bless

One Song wonders - My version

First and foremost thanks to blogeswari who has brought out the first post. This is my version of the so called " One song wonder of Tamizh Cinema"

I used to watch all these super singer shows and day by day i was so irritated by the "banda" shown by the one song wonders. Many say that A R Rahman was the person who introduced many singers but if you are a die hard fan of ilayaraaja then you would know that many singers did sing for ilayaraaja but the regulars were SPB, Mano, K J Yesudas, S Janaki and Chithra.

Srilekha P: If you ask her to sing she would start with " Nalla manam un pol KidaiyadU nandri solla varthai enaku edu"....Only after some time did i realise that she was actually telling thanks to us for listening to her songs. "Chinna Veeda varatuma", "Dhumsu Kattai", "Kalyanam than", "Pombra Kannu", "Kokku meena"...None of these songs are melodies and they are kuttu pattus and how can we accept her as a judge in a programme. No way...7 years and she has only a few numbers

Benny Dayal: "Taxi Taxi" .....no other song which we know...actually he is calling for the taxi to come and pick him up...

..to be contd

Lessons from Besant Nagar

On May 2nd , 2008, i lost my sister who expired because of cervical cancer. It was a long fight for her for about 6 years and she fought bravely. Cancer survivors are there in this world but for my sister her mission on earth was over and her place in heaven was made.

We cremated her on the 3rd of May, 2008 at the besant nagar electric crematorium and that's when i realized a lot of things. Life is very short. In the real sense we have less time on this earth and we are here to do a lot of things. My sister was a qualified CA but those were not present when collected her bones and ashes. Where was it written...NOWHERE....finally we are just a pot full of ashes and bones.

In the time between birth and death, we go through so much of emotions and we do many things. There is no major factor here to be mentioned which is the EGO or the complex. Given an opportunity we want to pull people down, show them our strength and try to bring them down.
We accept job opportunities outside our home town and crib that we dont get home made food nor we able to celebrate ceremonies and festivals as we used to do in our home town.
At last we become so impure that it would take ages for us to get purified. As they say in the karmic cycle, we will be born and born again.

Let us strive to become pure and more pure on a daily basis. Let us help others in what ever way possible. Karma will rule us and yes karma can be minimized in this birth and all is in US, the individual.

Peace ...More Peace to the world..
